Right now, we are watching an area of low pressure off the coast of Georgia. As of the writing of this blog entry, the system was non-tropical. However, this time of year when we have low pressure develop along a decaying front off the southeast coast, we can and somestimes do see tropical systems develop. We need rain and we will have a shot at isolated to scattered showers or storms late in the weekend if the low tracks close enough to the coast. If the system does get better organized and takes on more tropical characteristics, on its current forecasted path, the stronger winds should remain offshore. If the system drifts more westward and slides inland, we won't see the tropical enhancement. It's still a bit early to be certain but the picture will become clearer in the next 24-48 hours. We'll keep an eye on it. |
