The winds today were south/southwest for the most part and you can expect more of the same in the next 24 to 48 hours. That means the areas that smelled the smoke will likely have similar conditions for the next couple of days. We do have some much needed rain in the forecast. Saturday, Sunday and Monday there should be scattered showers and storms to help our dry conditions. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed. Tropical storm "Bertha" formed today near the Cape Verde Islands. This storm has formed the farthest east this early in the hurricane season of any on record. This is also the farthest east that any July storm has formed on record. The "Cape Verde season" for storm formation doesn't typically start firing up until August. Is this a freak storm or a sign of things to come? Stay tuned... 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
