Hampton Roads will enjoy Code Green air quality today. The recent heavy rains and a shift in the winds has helped to clean the air.
There may still be a smoky smell around the dismal swamp but it is not as bad as it has been in recent weeks. There is the potential for more showers and storms over southern parts of our viewing area this afternoon and tonight.
Temps will be slightly below normal for the next couple of days with warmer conditions by Sunday.

Well a couple of weeks ago, I was praying for a hurricane to put the fires out....I guess all we really needed was this rain. I have been sick from the fires, and we have been held hostage in our house this summer due to the smoke. Let the fun begin! I think we should re-do the 4th of July when the weather finally breaks!

Smoke picked up this morning at the high rise bridge. With the heat, it will become unbearable again. We need more rain soon.
