Temperature will reach the upper 90s across parts of the region today and tomorrow and the humidity will increase as well. This, combined with smoke from the wildfires could mean trouble for people with breathing problems, the elderly, and young children. You've heard it over and over, but it is important... limit your strenuous outdoor activites this afternoon and again tomorrow. Temps should ease down a bit over the weekend and we will also see increasing chances for isolated showers or storms. Rainfall for the the year at Norfolk International Airport is about three inches below normal. Crews fighting the fires say that we will need a steady heavy rain of three to six inches over the wild fires to extinguish the deep smoldering areas. It doesn't look like we'll see that much rain soon, but we will keep an eye on the radar! 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
This is the first time I have prayed for a tropical storm to hit this region. I am so tired of breathing smoke.
