Last week was a hectic news week. I was working Saturday night, and did an early weather segment on the windy conditions we would see the following day, and how red flag warnings were posted because of the higher-than-normal fire risk on Sunday. Sure enough, we had numerous wildfires Sunday. The result, hundreds of acres burned and some homes evacuated. But the point of this blog is what I saw on the way home Sunday night. After extensive coverage of the wildfires all evening long, I see someone throw a lit cigarette butt out of their truck on 464. I just couldn't believe it. As I could see the amber glow in the sky from the wildfires in Suffolk and North Carolina, and as the smell of smoke filled the air, someone tosses a cigarette butt out the window, and I see sparks dance across the interstate. I'm not excusing the littering part of all this, but I just couldn't believe someone could be so careless. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |
Re cig blog~
I too am appalled! He/she (if caught!) should have been arrested. We live in such a "me" society-never thinking about anything or anyone else except yourself! I hope he gets a flat tire on the way home!!! Have a great day! Debbie Miller, Norfolk
The wildfires never happened. They are in fact part of a wide government conspiracy to distract us from the UFO's landing at Langley Air Force base. While our eyes are south, the government acts up north.
I can't believe I'm the only one who sees this.
