After a very dry start to 2008 we finally got a nice rain over the region. Norfolk International Airport received .60 inches Thursday and we are looking for additional rain and snow on Saturday. But that's not all... Cold air will come in during the afternoon setting up the likelyhood of rain changing to snow and there could be some sginificant accumulations over parts of the viewing area. The change to snow will occur earlier to the west, so the best chances for greater accumulations will be over the western parts of the viewing area. The snow will move out tomorrow night. Bay effect snow showers will be possible early Sunday and its going to be cold with highs in the lower to mid 30s. The forecast may change a bit and we will nail down forecast snow amounts across the mid-Atlantic region as we get closer to the event. Stay tuned... |
