The result will be winds of 20-40 mph over parts of the area this afternoon and evening with gusts over 50 mph near the beaches. The winds may get a bit stronger overnight. Besides being potentially destructive, the winds will likely drive tidal water levels 1.5-2.5 feet above normal. That means there could be minor coastal flooding at high tides this afternoon and overnight.
