Last night on my flight home from Chicago, I whipped out my little notebook and started drafting my resolutions. I'm a born planner, but the list I was about to make is ridiculous even by MY standards.

I wrote down 7 BIG goals (The title of this page is "In 2008, I want to be...." and each resolution finishes that sentence). Then I decided I needed to make smaller goals and benchmarks under each big goal (For example: "pay off my credit card balance by March" is (b) under the financial goal).

So after about an hour of thinking, drafting, and scribbling, I ended up with a two pages of resolutions that span pretty much every area of my life (work, finances, physical fitness, spirituality, etc). I taped them up next to my mirror along with a nice new motivational quote (I'm obsessed with quotes), hoping that each time I see the papers they will remind me to stick with the resolutions. I also sent a copy to my boyfriend in Altoona, PA and asked him to help out with Operation New Year's Resolution 2008.

Somehow I've also managed to convince myself that I'm different than most people and I really will follow through with these goals and resolutions. But as the saying goes, "only time will tell." So, if you happen to see me out and about in a month or two, feel free to ask how resolution #4 a is going.
