Journalists are competitive people (Particularly in the months of November, February, May and July) Nothing drives us more than making sure we have the information, the edge that somebody else doesn't have...so our viewers can be rewarded for their loyalty by getting news, breaking or otherwise, first. Well, it turns out we're not just competitive about stories, scoops and ratings....apparently we also fight tooth and nail to be the better blogger.
Reporter Kristina Rohall and I have desks that face each other, and at least three times in the past week other reporters (Now, I'm not going to name names...ahem...Mike Gooding) in the WVEC newsroom have stopped at our common desk to tell us that we're making everyone else look bad. That she and I are blogging too much, that no one else can keep up.
In this situation, it's the two of us against the newsroom. But in reality, the greater competition is Kristina vs. Andria. Everytime I see she's blogged, I blog. It's kind of like a friendly, yet never- ending cold war between our keyboards.
So, I'm officially marking the start of the 13 News blog wars. May the fingers with the most endurance win.
