| Ramping Up More "Green" Coverage in 2009 »
I hope you were able to catch the It's Our Watch/Project Green segment on managing storm runoff through "rain gardening." Efforts like this go a long way towards improving the quality of our local waterways. I was soaked by the end of the shoot! When I decided to do the story, I felt it needed to be shot during a rain event. The heavens opened up nicely for our purposes last month during a nor'easter. Great images for the story... really bad hair for the reporter. Oh, the things I do for enviromental awareness! This upcoming Saturday (Nov. 15, 2008) is America Recycles Day. If you don't recycle much now, I challenge you to find ways to step up your efforts. Next Wednesday evening on 13NEWS, It's Our Watch will focus on some of the awesome things Virginia Beach public schools are doing to protect the environment. Mark your calendar and find out how they are a model for other school districts around the country. |
