The Hampton Roads Alliance for Environmental Education is conducting its annual conference at the Virginia Aquarium today. 2008 topics include: Water Quality, Native Oyster Restoration, Coastal GEMS, Wastewater Treatment, Saving Oyster Shells, and the Va Tech Ag Research and Extension Center's Rain Buffer and Bayscape. There will also be presentation on Climate Change from Dr. Carl Hershner of VIMS. I get to help with the awards presentation. Conference attendees will participate in a tree planting. It should be a great time and very educational for the representatives from area non-profit organizations. Throughout the day everyone will be encouraged to share ideas and to cultivate friendships and partnerships to protect and enhance our environment. Look for more on the event tonight (9/11/08) on 13News at 5:30 PM. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Craig,
Thank you for attending this important conference. You were a great emcee. HR WET (www.hrwet.org) was honored to receive the Award of Excellence for their participation in Earth Day Events. I hope you will be able to attend next year.
