Sub-Trop Depression 10 may help us a bit...

1:07 PM Fri, Sep 21, 2007 |

A new subtropical depression has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is fairly close to the coast and should make landfall Saturday.

Hopefully the storm won't intesify much, this morning's official forecast doesn't call for much strengthening by landfall (although we've seen storms ramp up quickly before!)
The main impacts will be heavy rain and some wind.
As the system comes inland, the moisture should get swept east/northeastward ahead of a cold front. This could mean some much needed rain for our area by the middle of next week. We are over 10.5 inches below normal for the year and some of our cities are asking that residents voluntarily reduce water usage.

Come on rain!
