The weekend has been B-E-A-U-T-F-U-L! But... we could still use some rain. We are sitting 8.24" below normal for the year. Event organizers, business owners, and tourists are happy but the lawns and plants, and trees need water...
Rock and Roll Half-marathon was a big success again. Elite racing does an amazing job. On a personal note... I was very disappointed with the parking nightmare last evening as I tried going to the oceanfront for the INXS concert and R'n'R Half awards (I was supposed to help emcee.) After spending 35 mintues looking for parking and dealing with gridlock, I had to pass on helping with the award ceremonies. Tow-trucks were out in force and parking lots were filled everywhere I went.
Of course, parking woes are nothing compared to the concerns in Central America with the development and approach of Hurricane Felix. This morning a Cat 5. Keep an eye on this, especially for Honduras and Belize.
I hope you were able to catch "It's Our Watch" when it aired. we have a number of interesting topics planned for the coming weeks and months. We hope you will enjoy them.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.
It's back to school tomorrow!
