For the second time in a week big storms roll over Hampton Roads and the downtown Norfolk area. For the second time in a week 13NEWS took direct lightning strikes which fried some of our computer systems.
Evan Stewart and the engineering department put in another great effort to keep us up and running graphically late last night and early this morning. This on the heels of hard work last week. Just when you think everything is back to normal... BOOM! They were robbing Peter to pay Paul again. Fortunately, all of our Weatherlab technology is still running and our forecasts are as reliable as ever.
I am really excited about Wednesday's "It's Our Watch." Oyster reef restoration is a great way to improve water quality and the overall ecology of the Lynnhaven River. A lot of citizen volunteers are helping in the effort. We will show you what the Army Corp of Engineers and VIMS are doing to help bring back the oysters. "It's Our Watch" Wednesday on 13NEWS at 5:30PM.
We have some more great enviromental stories that we are planning but I would love to know what you would like to hear more about. We're all ears!
