Hello friends, This is Craig Moeller.

This is my first run at blogging, but I am really excited to know what you think about about our news series on climate change and human influence on our enviroment... IT'S OUR WATCH.

When I pitched this series to the management at WVEC, I stated that I don't want to get "preachy" or political on the issues. My aim during this informational campaign is to educate and raise awareness about climate and enviromental issues here in Hampton Roads, across the region, and around the world.

In the centuries to come, people will look back to this time and will judge us for what we did and didn't do for the planet.

This is our time to manage the planet and its resources... IT'S OUR WATCH.

Let me know what topics you would like me to feature in upcoming stories, whether or not you think humans are influencing climate change, and what if anything we can do about it.

With the tropics firing up, it will be interesting to see how oil prices respond. Tropical Storm Erin is more of a rain maker than anything else in the Gulf of Mexico and now the Texas Coast. I am more concerned with Hurricane Dean possibly coming into the region next week. If the NHC/TPC forecast models are correct, there could be a major hurricane to contend with down there.
