In the first episode of "It's Our Watch," Skip Stiles (Executive director of Wetlands Watch) and I were in Norfolk. Skip and I discussed the topic of sea level rise and its impacts on Hampton Roads. We were looking at an area that appeared to be returning to a wetland.
Last Friday Skip sent me these comments in an email...
"...when I drove by the Surrey Crescent site today, there were lots of pink flags in the ground
- all labeled "wetlands delineation." It seems that the open area we walked around is about to be designated a wetland by Norfolk and put back to its natural state."
Check out the story online and let me know what you think.
Jamaica took a beating from Hurricane Dean, the eye should stay just south of the Caymans and then make a run at the Yucatan peninsula. Dean could be a Catagory 5 at the landfall. Stay up on this one.
