I've covered plenty of storms in my almost two decades here at WVEC. But preparing for Hanna has been a little different. See this time around I also have to prepare for my family. In storms past I know just to pack my bag and head to work because that's where I'll be riding out the storm. When I got married I packed my bag and my husband knew he could handle everything on his own. But now we have a child and preparing for a storm take... He talked about one sailor who because of pre deployment workups and other duties had to be away from her young son for a year. I have to tell you both these homecomings and all the others we've had recently have made me even more thankful for our military. We've all heard the say "from the mouths of babes." Well I got to find out what that means first hand from my 13 month old the other day.
