A Miracle in Suffolk...

8:22 PM Wed, Apr 30, 2008 |

That's what everyone is saying about the fact that no one was killed in the tornadoes that cut a swath of destruction through Suffolk on Monday. To look at the damage left behind that's difficult to believe. What's not difficult to believe is the Spirit of Hampton Roads that is shining through all this destruction. While hundreds of people have lost their homes and many of the possession they use to hold dearly. There are hundreds more...

Tornado On the Ground!

7:23 PM Wed, Apr 30, 2008 |

You've likely heard those words from excited storm chasers when the news, as it tends to do, broadcasts video of tornadoes touching down.

When I lived in Oklahoma City several years ago, I remember on many evenings grabbing my family and our dog and jumping into the bath tub, or a hall closet, when it flashed on the t-v screen that a tornado was on the ground.

Those words should grab you when you think about the power and the s...

Are You Paying Too Much Tax?

8:25 PM Wed, Apr 23, 2008 |

I hope you'll tune in Thursday for 13-News at six and eleven for a special report I just bet will save you some money. And that's not just one of those lines to try and get you to watch.

Thanks for helping out...

9:26 PM Tue, Apr 22, 2008 |

Tonight was Miracle Night at area Golden Corral restaurants and we had lots of fun for a great cause. More than 40-thousand dollars was raised tonight to help the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters. And it's all thanks to the thousands of of Hampton Roads folks who came out to help. I was out at the Kempsville restaurant with David Alan, Regina Mobley, Katherine Barrett, Mike Gooding, Evan Stewart and Craig Moeller. Yes we had ...

A little help with technology

8:42 PM Wed, Apr 16, 2008 |

I was at the store the other day and like most people when I go I'm trying to run in and get out as fast as I can. Grabbing the items I need fairly quickly is not a problem. You just have to stay focused and not be side tracked by items that you don't need, but look good. This philosophy works best when you shop on a full stomach.
But to me the most difficult part about getting out of a store quickly is picking the right chec...

Cutting Costs

6:08 PM Fri, Apr 04, 2008 |

Like David Alan my family and I have been trying to find ways to cut back and save. Because it doesn't look like many of the things we need and use on a regular basis are going to go back down in price anytime soon.
When it comes to using gas well there's no way around it. To get from here to there you have to have it. But what I'm trying to do is to be better about all the quick trips I make running errands. I still run my ...
