I teared up off camera during the 10pm show and again during the 11pm show on March 24th, while watching Brian Farrell's story about Melody Miller and her five oldest children. It was 1979 when Miller lost her children to foster care, and then adoption. She apparently created a new life for herself and later gave birth to two other children.
The oldest of the seven, Lawrence recently tracked down his mother and organized a family reunion at a Norfolk bowling alley.
In tearful terms, Melody described the domestic violence that forced her to turn over her children to foster care. Her children who are now adults, wept openly as they described the many days and nights they spent wondering about their mother. Seared in my mind is the shot of Lawrence clinging to his mother as he would have held onto her as a six year old, his age the last time he saw his mother.
If you haven't seen the story, I urge you to check out the link from WVEC.COM. Bring tissues.

As an adoption social worker assisting adult adoptees search for their birth family-this was a beautiful story about the ties that bond birth families together-and the passion of one person-Lawrence-with one heartfelt sentiment-to find his birth family.
God Bless this family.
Please send me the full report if you would.
Thank you;
