March 2008 Archives I teared up off camera during the 10pm show and again during the 11pm show on March 24th, while watching Brian Farrell's story about Melody Miller and her five oldest children. It was 1979 when Miller lost her children to foster care, and then adoption. She apparently created a new life for herself and later gave birth to two other children. If you were to open up my refrigerator right now you would see something that resembles egg salad. But this egg salad is very colorful. You see last Saturday night like many people around the country my husband son and I decorated some hard boiled eggs for Easter. They turned out okay. Most of us pretty much take for granted that the lights will go on when we flip the switch so will the television when we hit the remote. Then we have nights like last Tuesday. Remember that storm ? Well my family was one of the thousands of homes without electricity. I'm counting the days until next week! My wife reminds me that for the past 20 years now I have been making an annual trip to Florida for Spring Training. I grew up rooting for the Pittsburgh PIrates, and despite 15-straight losing seasons by the Bucs, I still root for the Pirates. So, next week, my wife, daughter and I will pack up and head south for a few days to soak in the sun and some baseball. I'm lucky ... |
