Good enough isn't good enough....

6:07 PM Thu, Feb 07, 2008 |

I'm one of those people who when I want to hang a picture I kind of eyeball it and just put in the nail. Good enough right? I do a lot of things that way confident i'm doing them right. That is until I had my son and we had to put in his child safety seat.

The first seat we had to install before we could take our son home from the hospital was done by my husband with the help of a friend who is a child safety seat expert. I was on bed rest when we got around to doing it so I had no idea all that went into installing a seat. That is until Parker grew out of his infant carrier seat and we had to move up to a bigger model.
You might think installing a car seat is a piece of cake. Just put a seatbelt through the base and you're in, right? Wrong. It actually takes a couple of people working together to get it in and get it in tight. And i've found that when it comes to my son's car seat and safety I guess you could say i'm a perfectionist. It's got to be in right or it's got to be done over again. Thank goodness I married a patient man and have a good friend who knows a lot more about car seats than I do. Because it took a little more than an hour to install seats in both our cars. But you know what they're in tight and I know when I take my son out on the road he's as safe as he can be and that piece of mind is priceless.
