I know it's my imagination... or at least I hope it is.. but it seems like everytime I'm running late for anything, I get all the red lights! Case in point -- my drive to work this morning. I started the 20 minute commute with a few mintues to spare, but hit Norfolk only to end-up hitting every light on Brambleton Avenue. It's like they were waiting for me, taunting me as I made my way from St Paul's onto Brambleton. All I ever see as I'm make that turn is the color GREEN, but I know, as soon as get through that light and I'm in the final stretch of my drive to work -- that sea of green will quickly turn to red. Arrrgh! And "they" wait. Each light, waiting for the other to turn green so it can turn red. It's like an offensive line protecting a quarter back... you get through one lineman, and another takes his place! I know there's not a conspiracy, but man.. it sure feels like it, especially when I'm running late for work! 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
Vanessa,
You are not the only who has seen this problem. The timing on numerous traffic lights throughout Norfolk seem to be out of whack. Maybe as new lights were added over the years the city has not taken the time to reset them so as not to interrupt the flow of traffic.
