What do those three things have in common? They're all on my itsy-bitsy Christmas tree.
A few years ago, I downsized my Christmas decorations. I used to have a seven foot tree with all the traditional trimmings -- a plethora of bulbs, multi-colored lights, silver icicles, metallic garland.. etc, etc, etc. It wasn't the prettiest Christmas tree, not like the ones you see when you go to your "Martha Stewart-esque" friends' homes. Nonetheless, it did the job. Back when I had cats, I couldn't keep them out of the tree. It was pretty funny. Those two goofballs would climb right of the trunk, knocking the branches off! Hmmmmm, I miss those cats and I miss that tree.
The tree stayed in a box for about five years, then I gave it to a co-worker who was putting one up for the first time. I was left tree-less and with little desire to go out and drop a bunch of dough on a new tree. So, for a few years, I didn't put up any decorations. Now, I know that sounds terrible, but it's not soooooo bad. I usually go home at or around Christmas time (nobody comes to my house)... so it's okay. No symbol of Christmas needed in the Coria condo... BUT, one day, when shopping at one of my favorite discount retailers, I came across a tree that spoke to me. It was small (about a foot and ahalf tall) and irridescent white in color and it was literally only a few bucks! Then, I saw the cute little decorations. They came in sets of four. Four glittery green, pink and purple pumps. Four glittery pink and green tall boots. And four perfect glitter purses in pink and purple. Add the little pink puffs on a silver cord and a string of multi-colored lights and for 15 bucks.. I once again had a Christmas tree!
I love a bargain, so this chic little tree with all of its sassy trimmings was right up my alley. On top of that -- it's small! I didn't have to move any furniture or re-arrange my living space, I simply put it on the kitchen bar for all to see :) Cute, cute, cute and with a little bit of a girly/fashionista touch! I love it! It's too bad hardly anyone gets to see it :(
I hear you! Since I live alone, I stopped decorating years ago. Merry Christmas!
Now I feel a little sad :( It sounds lonely
Well, a big Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!! To you. :)
