I know it sounds like a simple mundane task. But this time of year it brings me great joy. That's because during the month of December the Christmas cards far out number the bills. And my husband is great about it. Even though he gets home way before I do he still leaves the mail in the box so that when I pull up I can be the first to discover what treasures the mailman has left for us. I always love seeing pictures of everyone's children to see how much they've grown during the last year and try to figure out who they look more like now. But really my favorite part about getting Christmas cards is reading the letters inside. I know not everyone sends them. But the ones who do are great. I love being able to have one sheet that fills me in on everything that my friends think was important in thier lives in the last 12 months. And I have to say most of the letters I get are always so fun to read because they are so cleverly written. I strive for that every year myself.. and I must admit some years are more successful than others. My hope is that the person who receives my Christmas card and letter gets as much joy out of getting it as I did in sending it.
