I have to admit I tend to approach the holidays each year with a bit of dread. I know I shouldn't. But it seems there's always too much to do; parties, performances and parades, when I just want to sit back a bit and enjoy the season. This past Sunday I got my first gift of the season, and I know I will not get a better present this year. My 10-year old daughter has just started piano lessons, and this weekend she had her first recital. Working nights, I miss a lot of concerts and other programs she does. So, a Sunday recital at Wetsminster Canterbury in Virginia Beach was a real treat for me. My daughter played a few Christmas Carol duets with her teacher and sang a solo. Wow! It whipped me off my feet. I'm a sucker for this type of thing anyawy. I'll probally get a few ties for Christmas this year and some golf balls. I can always use both of them. But my best gift this year, I know I've already gotten. And I'll remember it long after the tie is no longer my favorite and I've driven those balls deep into the woods. |
