But this Black Friday I did not get out of bed early and rush to take advantage of the "door buster specials." Nope I put on my slippers, checked to make sure my son was still sleeping and sat down at my computer to "cyber shop."
I gotta tell you usually there's this rush when you get through the door on the big day and manage to get one of whatever it is that you got up so early to get. But when you're shopping on the internet that "rush" just isn't there. I mean it's great when you see that you managed to get what you wanted and you didn't even have to brush your hair, put on makeup, or even change out of your pajamas. But I miss the interaction with people while standing in those long lines.
I have a girlfriend who usually goes with me and this year she was sick. (another reason not to get out in the crowd, no one to help you work the store to get the deals). So she's the one who suggested shopping online Friday. At first I didn't think it was going to be a good idea. I mean having a computer tell me my great deal is in the mail and actually having that item in my hand are two different things. But I did it.. and this week I got to reap the benefits of all my "cyber shopping." With all the packages coming it's been like Christmas everyday at my front door. I guess that "rush" I like so much just takes a few more days to arrive when you shop on-line
