http://www.whas11.com/bios/couch.js: November 2008 ArchivesOh my gosh, I'm already tearing up, and I haven't even started writing! Today was the last day of boot camp, and I have to say, I'm extremely sad about it. I've done two boot camp sessions before, but wasn't sad at the end because I knew that I was going back in two weeks. But today really was the last day for me (at least for a while), and I'm extremely bummed about it. ...Thank goodness it was cold out this morning, because we were certainly heating it up out there! Today was all about cardio, and let me tell you, it burned. First we moved back and forth across the parking lot: we did a side shuffle down, then came back doing karaoke's (can someone please tell me why they're called that??), then back the other way doing another round of karaoke (which is this thing where you're basically moving to the side cr... Well, it's official. I have joined the Fall of Fame Club! This morning in boot camp we did Hurricanes - which are these amazing circuits of exercises you do really, really quickly. Well, except according to Coach Kara, mine was at times more like a slow moving wind this morning. It's true - for some reason I'm having trouble finding my get up and go today. ...Before any of the non-boot campers reading this blog begin to worry - let me assure everyone that we were NOT outside this morning in the chilly weather. Even the toughest fit chicks have limits, so we were moved indoors for yoga. ...Breaking news! Last night I ate a meal almost entirely comprised of vegetables - and I loved it! Now those of you that have been following my blog since the beginning may recall that I have a love/hate relationship with veggies. As in, I love to hate them. ...Today in boot camp, I ran out of gas. Not the kind that comes from a pump (filled up the tank at $1.83 - woo-hoo!), but the kind that keeps me going through boot camp every day. ...Oh my gosh... everything hurts! But in such a good way. I'm so glad to be back at boot camp. At first it was really hard coming back in the middle of everything, but now I'm starting to feel like I'm getting stronger. ...Now THAT was a good workout! First of all, let me say that I am now completely exhausted. Of course, this is in part because we didn't get out of Mamma Mia until 10:15pm last night. But it was totally worth it! On a non exercise related note - if you are at all into ABBA - you MUST go see Mamma Mia! It's fantastic. ...Today was bring a friend to boot camp day! I brought my friends Kerri and Heidi, one of whom was freakishly upbeat for 5:30 in the morning, and one of whom was grumpy. But we all had fun! ...Oh, ow. Ow, ow, ow. This hurts. I'm moving slower than my 97 year old grandfather today. Though, in fairness, he is pretty spry. Let me tell you what is not a good idea: taking essentially a month off from boot camp, and then arriving back on one of the most intense days. ...I'm back! Today I really did make it back to boot camp, and it was phenomenal. ...Okay, for real this time. Seriously, I swear, I'm back at boot camp tomorrow! ...I miss boot camp! My plan was to make it back today, but some (hopefully) minor setbacks with my Dad made that impossible this morning. It's a shame, because I could really use a good workout to deal with some of this stress! Could somebody maybe drop by the hospital and tell me to do push-ups? ... |
