Tired. Very, very tired. This is now day three of less than 5 hours of sleep, and my body has officially had enough. It feels like an effort just to type these words. So, I call upon my magic elixir, Diet Coke. Oh, Diet Coke, how I love thee. I do feel a bit guilty about my little habit today though. I'm betting that the rule on ingredients (if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it) probably applies to beverages too. So if I learn to pronounce phenylalanine, does that make it okay? I'm sure I should be drinking green tea, or something else that isn't comprised almost entirely of chemicals, but today I need my dear sweet Diet Coke to get me through. I am clearly going to have to cut back my social calendar to accommodate boot camp, or risk doing a face plant on my keyboard. Today the boot camp (http://www.mohrresultsbootcamp.com) focus was on the lower body. That was a little unfortunate, as that was precisely the area of the body that was staging a minor protest this morning. I threatened my thighs with action yesterday, but really it was the hips that got pummeled today. We used bands to strap our ankles together, and then did a side step across the parking lot. Sound easy? It's not. In addition to what seemed a like a thousand lunges, we also did step-ups on to some rocks that conveniently line the road in Cherokee Park. At the time I didn't find the step-ups too difficult, but now I'm having trouble navigating the 6 inch ledge to my workspace, so I'm guessing my muscles were working a lot harder than it seemed. I've consulted with our agenda for the week, and terrifyingly, tomorrow has a listing for "agility drills". Let me tell you, agile would not be the word I'd use to describe myself right now. So, having learned my lesson, tonight I'll be hitting the sack at 9pm. In the meantime, I'll be figuring out how to attach a Diet Coke bottle to an IV. |
