The scale is not my friend. My jeans are not my friend. So, I'm making boot camp my friend. I'm not sure who talked who in to this, but my friend Renee Murphy and I have committed to doing a boot camp style workout 5 days a week, at 5:30am. Yes, that's 5:30 in the morning. Every day. Day One began with the loudest alarm that you can possibly imagine. I was so terrified of oversleeping that I set my alarm to play what can only be described as an air raid to wake me up. Well, it worked. I really needn't have gone to such extremes though. I was so excited about starting boot camp that I literally woke up every hour on the hour until 4:30am, when it was finally time to pull myself out of bed. After taking a moment to calm down after being startled out of bed at such an inhuman hour, I stumbled in to the kitchen to fuel up for the work-out. Needless to say, I didn't feel like cooking, so breakfast was a banana. Before I knew it, it was time to head down to the park. Let me just say - it is insanely dark in Cherokee Park at 5:20am. Yes, I got there early, because I'd been forewarned by the instructors (http://www.mohrresultsbootcamp.com/) that showing up late would result in 20 additional push-ups! Hence my concern over the alarm clock. Once I found a place to park, I threw my yoga mat, weights, and (very necessary) water bottle down on the ground, and started walking laps with the other ladies that had turned out for boot camp. 5:30 came very quickly, and we began the work-out! It was great. We did tons of cardio, push-ups, crunches, squats, and a crazy move that kind of looked like a kid skipping, if said kid had just consumed a large quantity of sugar. It was definitely a great work-out. I could see beads of sweat hitting my yoga mat as I did push-ups. Okay, tried to do push-ups. I have the upper body strength of a 2 year old. But not for long! It's only day one, but already I'm very glad I signed up. Surprisingly, I've actually had a lot of energy today! I'm not as brave as Renee, so I won't be confessing my number, but I will keep everyone apprised of how the pants situation is going. Stay tuned for Day Two! 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

You're off to a great start!
Maybe I'll start running more mornings if you can show me the air raid sound on my iphone once it arrives!
