Richards $ In UPDATE...Miller $

May 14, 2007

The Jody Richards/John Y Brown III ticket has submitted its campaign finance report for 15 days before the primary election.

The report shows the House Speaker raised $80,000 in the past two and a half weeks, bringing his campaign total to $595,000. That's the smallest amount of the remaining "Big Four" democrats in the race, but neither Richards nor Brown has loaned their campaign any money. Richards has $108,000 cash on hand for TV ads which, so far, have been very good. Last week, Richards told me there was "zero" chance that he would drop out of the race before election day.

UPDATE 11:22 Jonathan Miller's campaign finance report shows he raised $100,000 from folks just before dropping out of the race. Miller has an ending balance of $161,000. His main options for dealing with that money are returning it pro-rata to contributors or giving it to the Kentucky Democratic Party.

Just a reminder, a new Survey USA/WHAS 11 poll will be out tomorrow. I suspect it will show Beshear and Lunsford nearly tied in the democratic primary with Richards and Henry trailing badly. And I suspect Northup may be creeping a little closer to Fletcher. I've been wrong many times before and will likely be wrong again, but that looks like the landscape right now.
