Henry Fights Back

April 16, 2007

Steve Henry is apparently lumping a former staffer, Leslie Holland, in with his political "opponents" in this e-mail to his supporters. What's not clear is whether this is also a shot at Greg Stumbo for seeking a special prosecutor to review Holland's allegations of campaign finance violations against Henry:

It’s happening again.

My opponents are playing dirty politics instead of focusing on what Kentucky needs. This time they are using the judicial system.

As you may have heard, we have been facing untrue and baseless claims about my campaign and we are now being investigated by the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. We are complying with the procedure set out by the KREF and responding to complaint with our most powerful weapon: the truth.

But for those challenging my integrity the Registry process now isn’t good enough.

So, now we have to deal with a special prosecutor who is duplicating the work of the Registry. What a waste of tax dollars — and a typical diversion during a political campaign.

But you can be assured Renee True and I won’t be diverted from talking about the issues that matter most the people of Kentucky — keeping good jobs here in Kentucky, improving health care for every Kentucky family, giving Veterans the respect they deserve and helping make Kentucky a national leader in alternative energy.

And with your help and support we’ll show the state house crowd that their politics -- and their day -- is done.

Thank you.

Steve

"But for those challenging my integrity"

What integrity? Henry has none. Not only that but it is always somebody else's fault.
