It's that time of year guys! It may just be early fall, but snow has fallen this early in the season before.
- The earliest trace of snowfall occurred as early as October 3rd , 1980.
- A measurable amount of 1.40" inches fell on October 19th , 1989.
- A whopping 13.1" of snow fell on November 2 and 3rd back in 1966.
I don't see any of that in the 7 day forecast, but cold weather will arrive next Friday, with highs possibly only in the upper 40s, with lows in the 30s! Cold weather is coming, let's used to it!
I rather have snow than ice anyday. Ice is worse.

I am definitely ready for snow!! I'd rather have that than the rain they are predicting this week.
Barbara,
Thanks for the memory. I love it when someone has a good story to go along with the numbers we have in the record books! Makes it so much more real. It will be interesting to see if we get a big one this year...I've heard every different kind of possibility from the long range forecasters. And, I guess the wooley worms are wanting a big snow :)
Well I remember that one in 1966....we had to shovel our car for a block in order to get it home after my husband picked me up at work.....we had a little low to the ground Chevy Corvair...not meant to drive over more than a foot of snow...lol
