October 2009 ArchivesSo far we're running 6 degrees below average for the month. If you average our highs and lows all month, it's only 54.4 degrees. We've only hit 70 or above twice, on the 5th, and 20th (yesterday). We'll add another day in the 70s today though, as we go to around 73 with sunshine. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released its Winter Outlook, with no big surprises for us. As previously forecasted, an El Nino event is expected through the winter months. El Nino is a warming of the equatorial waters in the central Pacific Ocean. This pattern could give us drier and chillier weather than average. It doesn't neces... Over the past few days I have had several people, including Doug Proffitt, ask me when Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends and we "Fall" back to Standard Daylight Time (SDT). Before I give you the answer lets fire up the "Flux Capacitor" and travel back in time so we may better understand Daylight Saving Time. First there was Apparent Solar Time (True Local Time)... I don't care who you're rootin' for, we're all just rootin' for really good weather. And, for the most part we've got it.
