Temperatures will be cruising up for the Crusade for Children finish! Highs will top near 90 in town, with upper 80s outside of the city. Same Monday with temps near 90, but add mugginess.
As mentioned in the headline, it could be worse. Last year for Crusade weekend, temperatures reached 92 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday, with heat indices at 100 or above. Plus, severe flooding occurred over parts of southern Indiana, including areas around Seymour and Brownstown. Overnight lows were in the 70s, that's just how high the humidity was during that sweltering weekend!
Weather has a bigger impact on the Crusade than you may know. For instance, if it rains, the city has an ordinance that says "no roadblocks" for safety reasons. So, sunshine brings in the money! So, sunny means money!
Hopefully with the good weather this weekend, the money just poured in the firefighter's boots!
