The models are trending this winter storm westward with each run, since yesterday evening... Right now I'm thinking we could see Ok, so hopefully you've had a chance to vent your frustration on the "Time To Vent" thread, now let's look at the bright side. How much worse could this storm have been if we didn't have the wind storm? Imagine how many more trees would have come down. Imagine how many old power poles would have fallen due to the weight of the ice. Plus, it's yet another chance to really bond with the family! These are the times when our h... ...ok, so you guys are tough, no one wants to complain! The snow/freezing rain line will be right over the area, and we'll have to watch it close. But, right now, it looks like we coul... With the weather we had this Friday, it just makes you think of Spring. Our high Friday topped out at 61 degrees, more like the average highs of late March and early April. Since we're on the topic of Spring, some good news I guess for you warm weather lovers. Some new research out says the Spring season could be starting two days earlier! Here's the story...
Finally a little relief from the cold. We did get some sledding in over the past 2 days, but the sun has taken most of that away. So why not warm things up. We will be near 50 by Friday afternoon. Get some outdoor plans! By the weekend, the cold air will return. The biggest question mark is early next week. Depending on where the storm center moves, south of us or right at us, we could be looking at an icy mess. If it moves to our sout... The snow came quick and in bursts Saturday night covering Kentuckiana with about an inch of snowfall, some spots a little more or less. If it's got to be this cold, it might as well snow right! It's a real fluffy snow, and unfortunately, probably not enough to give the sled a good test run. Air and pavement temperatures will be below freezing, so be careful driving, especially on the untreated secondary roads. Enjoy the Winter Wo... As you may have guessed these quick moving storms originate out of the Canadian province of Alberta, just east of the Rocky Mountain chain. The jetstream picks up these storms, and shoves them through the Great Lakes and the upper Midwest. The Alberta Clipper, or Canadian Clipper as they're sometimes called, often brings a shot of cold air and light precipitation.... In the polar regions of northern Canada and Siberia (northern Russia) this time of year, the air gets bottled up under dark skies, strong high pressure, and just gets colder and colder. Every once in a while, the jetstream will take a dive, and unleash t... Boy have we been cranking the heat. No, not outside, inside! Don't look for any relief from the high heat bills over the next week or so. By late tonight, we start pumping in some colder air so we have the chance for a few spotty light rain or snow showers tomorrow morning. The best chance for snow will be during the late evening. It looks like overnight Tuesday through Wednesday will be our best chances for snow over the next week or so. Only minor accumulations are expected by Wednesday night. Unfortunately, it's more than likely not going to be a sleddable snow. Another snow chance will arrive with a weak system Friday night into Saturday, too early ... I hope you all had a great holiday! Our last weekend of the holidays will be a bit wet. At least it is rain and not freezing rain. The kids aren't so excited about the lack of snow. At least we always have Paoli Peaks and Perfect North. Man-made is better than no-made! Our next chance of wintry weather arrives next Tuesday and Wednesday. Get ready to gear up! ... |
