A Year Later, Much Better! (August 2007 Stats)

7:58 PM Sat, Aug 09, 2008 |

Remember last August? Probably not, since you were probably in a heat induced coma state! Here's a look at some stand-out stats from the sultry August of 2007.

*Aug. 1st - 20th temperatures were 90 or above.

*26 out of 31 days were in the 90s.

*7 record highs

*5 days at 100 or above

*Coolest day was 87.

So far this year...

We've had a few low 90 days early on, but 80s have been the rule. Thanks to the cold front that swept south last Thursday, the heat and humidity has been kept at bay.

The high Friday was 84 (even with mostly sunny skies), the high Saturday was 83.

80s are featured for most of the next seven days, with no extreme heat anytime soon.

Kentuckiana certainly was not alone in the heat wave of 2007. Many states and cities had record heat spells and major droughts.
