Tropics: Bertha And Cristobal

5:47 PM Sat, Jul 19, 2008 |

Can you believe it, Bertha is still churning away in the Atlantic! Bertha got upgraded once again to hurricane statues yesterday with winds around 75 mph. Bertha now has a new playmate, Cristobal (pronounced Krees-Toe-Bahl, kind of like Crystal Ball). Cristobal is a weak tropical storm with winds at 45 mph. Cristobal will skirt the outerbanks of the Carolinas as it tracks northeast. Bertha will jet quickly northeast and weaken over the colder waters of the north Atlantic. For more information on these storms, just click on the image.
