Highs got up to the upper 90s today around Louisville, the highest so far 97 at Standiford Field. The heat index from 100-105. Only a few off the record high of 100 set back in 1954. That's a furnace!

With all of the heat and humidity around, the atmosphere will be ripe to pop up a few storms from time to time. Any little disturbance will get things going. There is a weak boundary to the north producing some strong storms over central Indiana at the moment. This has prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the northern third of Kentuckiana until 9pm.
