Possible 500 Year Flood In Parts Of S. Indiana

Serious, record flooding Sunday and Monday along the East Fork of the White River in Lawrence and Jackson Counties, more flooding likely along the Mascatatuck River on the Washington/Jackson County lines. Expect major flooding south of Bedford, near Medora, Brownstown, and Seymour. Here's the latest from the

...FORECAST FLOODING INCREASED FROM MAJOR TO RECORD SEVERITY...
THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR
THE EAST FORK WHITE RIVER AT COLUMBUS.
* UNTIL LATE MONDAY NIGHT...OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED.
* AT 4:11 PM SATURDAY THE STAGE WAS 11.6 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND RECORD FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 9.0 FEET.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 20.5 FEET BY LATE
TONIGHT. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE MONDAY AFTERNOON.
* AT 22.0 FEET...RIVER LEVELS APPROACHING A 500 YEAR FLOOD. LEVEL IS
4 FEET ABOVE MARCH 1913. GREAT DESTRUCTION IN FLOOD PLAIN AREAS.
