Spring may be just days away, but winter is not finished with us yet. The biggest snow of the season may be just days away... A Winter Storm Watch may be issued for Friday and Friday Night... A major winter storm appears poised to strike Kentuckiana starting early on Friday. At this point, it appears as if a rain/snow mixture will occur for areas south and east of Louisville with mainly a heavy, wet snow event for Louisville and points to the north. As colder air pours into the region by late in the day, the event should eventually change over to all snow for Kentuckiana with significant accumulations possible for parts of the area. Current projections place a band of 4 to 8 inches for areas along and to the north of I-64 into souther parts of Indiana. 1 to 4 inches is expected south of I-64 at this time. Snow should taper off to snow showers and flurries by Saturday morning. This storm should be monitored closely over the next 24 hours. Stay tuned to WHAS11 and WHAS11.com for future updates concerning this major winter storm. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
