Well, get used to the cold. It looks like it will be sticking around over the next several days. Today may actually turn out to be the mildest of the next several to come. With a south wind and some sunshine today, highs should warm back into the upper 30’s after another very cold start this morning. It won’t get quite back to normal, which is in the low 40’s this time of the year, but it will be close.

The next storm system will arrive by early on Tuesday with a good bet for light snow. At this point, an accumulation looks likely, on the order of an inch or two for the metro area with lesser amounts to the south where a mixture of rain and snow is expected. This storm certainly won’t be the storm of the century, but will be appreciable compared to what we’ve seen so far this season.

The passage of a cold front Tuesday afternoon will ensure us of more cold but dry weather on Wednesday. Then yet another strong front is due to arrive Wednesday night bringing a few snow showers or flurries and some more very cold conditions on Thursday with highs only in the 20’s. Overnight temperatures could drop back down into the lower teens or even single digits again by Friday morning!

Finally, temperatures should begin to rebound again Friday afternoon with the return of sunshine and a light south wind. Temperatures look to continue to moderate into the weekend with highs returning to the 40’s both Saturday and Sunday with a chance of rain.
