July 2007 ArchivesThe hot and dry conditions that have plagued Kentuckiana for much of this summer is about to intensify and a bona fide heat wave looks poised to strike the area this week. ...I get a bunch of stuff across my desk that I occasionally sort into piles of stuff and then sort again into categories of stuff in piles. I was thunderstruck by the amount of information I have on lightning. Needless to say, I had to do something with this data so I thought about sharing it with you. The heat really returns for all of those brides! ...Storms that were up over Chicago and Milwaukee late Tuesday night created an outflow boundary of cooler air that acted as a weak cold front over the Ohio Valley late Wednesday afternoon. That’s why there were more than just isolated storms that developed over the region late Wednesday. ...Officially we are half way through 2007 but not yet half way through the summer. ...Get out with friends and family for the holiday! Even with the increase in temperatures, we are still looking good for the 4th. ...We are usually hard pressed not to mention a shower or storm chance for the 4th due to heat, humidity and instability ...Hope you have a pool nearby to cool you off because it’s another hot and humid Independence Day for Kentuckiana. So what’s new right? Well it may be hot now, but the summer is still young. Although the longest day of the year is behind us, the hottest days are still ahead… ... |
