The Florida State Seminoles are trying to make a game of it. With 8:03 left in the game they trail the Cats 28-21.

Cats Surging In The Third

6:26 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

After a sloppy first half the Kentucky Wildcats have righted the ship and lead Florida State 28-14 at the end of three quarters. Rafael Little has atoned for his two fumbles and come up huge for the Cats in the second half.

First Half Full Of Miscues Leads To 14-14 Tie

6:05 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

If your the Kentucky Wildcats you can look at the first half in one of two ways. (1) You're happy to be tied with Florida State depsite three first half turnovers. Or (2) you're in some big trouble because you're giving Florida State life.

Groundhog Day

5:31 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

That's what it seems like watching the Wildcats. Give the Seminoles credit, but Kentucky is shooting itself in the foot. Statistically Rafael Little is having a monster game. He's rushed for 85 yards and caught five passes for 38 yards. But his most glaring stat is his two fumbles.

Cats Overcoming Penalties and Turnovers

5:06 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

The Wildcats should be blowing out the Seminoles, instead they only lead 14-7 with 8:28 left go on in the first half. Rafael Little's first quarter fumble, inside the ten surely cost Kentucky points. Little redeemed himself with a big run in the second but it was called back on a personal foul penalty by Steve Johnson.

Big Plays The Early Story

4:20 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

At the end of the first quarter the Wildcats and Seminoles are tied at seven. The game could not have started better for the Wildcats. On the Seminoles first possession Roger Williams blocks Graham Cano punt attempt and the Cats recover at the 25 yard line.

Countdown To Kickoff

3:34 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007 |

It's a half hour before kickoff and the Big Blue Nation is filing in to LP Field. Based on what we've been seeing down here in Nashville this will be a definite pro-UK crowd. Senior wide receiver Keenan Burton is dressed and it looks like he will play.

More Injury News

5:59 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007 |

UK senior wide receiver Keenan Burton may be about to do his best Willis Reed impersonation. Despite not practicing Saturday, because of a knee injury, Burton is going to try and suit up for the Cats against Florida State in the Music City Bowl.

Burton Injury Update

9:06 PM Sat, Dec 29, 2007 |

The Kentucky Wildcats once again looked like a bunch of guys having the time of their lives. Practice out at Vanderbilt University was low key and relaxed. But at the end of practice head coach Rich Brooks delivered some sobering news. Senior wide receiver Keenan Burton, who is second on the team in touchdown catches and receptions, is highly doubtful for the Music City Bowl with a knee injury.

The Eagle Has Landed

9:46 PM Fri, Dec 28, 2007 |

After a three hour drive (which really should have been two and half, but man that construction on 65 is a bear) Wade and I have arrived in Nashville, home of the Music City Bowl. Over the next few days I'll be dishing out the details of our every move.

Caracter is back...again.

9:11 PM Mon, Dec 17, 2007 |

I have to admit mixed feeling when it comes to Derrick Caracter. On one hand, I say kick him off the team. He's wasting his talent, he's wasting his opportunity. He's hurting the rest of the players and shifting way too much of Rick Pitino's energy away from actually COACHING.

Petrino Bolts Atlanta

7:42 PM Tue, Dec 11, 2007 |

The Bobby Petrino era in Atlanta didn't even last a full year. Instead of sticking out a tough situation, Petrino decides to take the easy way out. Am I surprised?

Changes Needed

11:13 PM Sun, Dec 02, 2007 |

As expected the Cards coaching staff experiences some major changes. They were obviously needed after the 6-6 record. Defensive coordinator Mike Cassity had to go. I can't remember seeing a team look so lost on defense. Now we'll see who Coach K hires and if it makes much difference.
