SEC is SE-Crazy

11:03 PM Mon, Sep 29, 2008 |

Who would have thought Vanderbilt & Kentucky would be the only undefeated teams in the SEC East? Florida, Tennessee and Georiga all lost on the same day, leaving the division wide open. The Wildcats get a major test Saturday night at #2 Alabama. And this could get ugly. I think the UK defense can hold it's own, but Micah Johnson is out and that doesn't help. The real problem will come with the Kentucky offense. I just don't see how they are go...

State of the Cards, Cats, and Hoosiers

5:13 PM Sun, Sep 28, 2008 |

A third of the way through the college football season it's time to take stock of where the Cards, Cats and Hoosiers stand.

Louisville's 26-21 loss to Connecticut on Friday was a step back for a team out to prove it is going to be a contender in the Big East Conference. Here's the problem I have with the loss. The Cardinals out-gained the Huskies by more than 200 yards. The Huskies starting quarterback Tyler Lorenzen b...

Proof Anything Can Happen In College Football

7:00 PM Fri, Sep 26, 2008 |

There are certain things in life that are supposed to be guaranteed. Death. Taxes. And this year no way USC loses to Oregon St. Take all those things to the bank right? Wrong. The top ranked Trojans and all their 5-star recruits, and future NFL Draft picks got hoodwinked Thursday night against the Beavers. Oregon St. had not beaten a team ranked number one in 41 years. Thursday night they looked like they should be ranked No. 1 and USC an also...

U.S.A Victorious In Ryder Cup

7:29 PM Sun, Sep 21, 2008 |

USA...USA The sound of thousands of fans cheering for the United States Ryder Cup team will stick with me for a long time. The U.S. Ryder Cup team was not supposed to have a chance against the Europeans. It was supposed to be Georgetown vs. Villanova. Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglas. But on Sunday it was the Americans, the underdogs, playing the better golf winning their first Ryder Cup since 1999, 16 1/2-11 1/2. Kentuckians Kenny Perry and J.B....

Europeans Draw Closer In Ryder Cup

2:20 PM Sat, Sep 20, 2008 |

With the Saturday morning matches complete the United States leads Europe 7-5. The U.S. came into the day leading by three points. The story of the day so far is the collapse by Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim. They led Henrik Stenson and Owen Wilson by as much as four holes after six. But down the stretch Stenson and Wilson come back taking the lead on the 16th hole on their way to a 2 and 1 win.

Kentuckian Kenny Perry and Jim Furyk se...

Americans Take Lead Into Day Two

12:38 AM Sat, Sep 20, 2008 |

Behind some strong play from Hunter Mahan, Justin Leonard and a cast of other teammates the United States leads Europe 5 1/2-2 1/2 going into day two of the Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club.

The stars of the day were Mahan and Leonard who teamed up twice to win two points. Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim were also solid combining to pick up a point and a half for the U.S.

The Kentucky connection of J.B. Holmes and Kenny Perry nee...

Strong Day One Showing For Americans

5:36 PM Fri, Sep 19, 2008 |

U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger could not have asked for a better start to the 37th Ryder Cup. After the four morning matches the United States led Europe 3-1. It's the first time since 1991 the Americans have led after the opening morning's matches. What's been so special about this go-round is in each of the four morning matches the U.S. team trailed. But instead of folding all four U.S. teams came back to at least halve the match.

Friday's Games Still Up In The Air

9:36 PM Tue, Sep 16, 2008 |

Sunday's wind storm not only, damaged homes and knocked out power, it's also put this weeks high school football schedule in limbo. As of Tuesday evening Jefferson County Public School had not made a decision whether Friday's games were going on as scheduled. I talked to JCPS Athletic Director, Jerry Wyman. He tells me a decision should be made by Wednesday morning.

Over in Indiana Clark County schools will make a decision on Thursday ...
