The Indiana High School football season is still more than a week and a half away but some Floyd Central football players really put on a show Tuesday night. It's called the Turkey Bowl and more than a hundred girls took the Floyd Central field for a game of flag football. It's an annual tradition that pits the juniors versus the seniors. At first I thought it wouldn't be that exciting. The girls won't play that hard. There won't be any real hits on the field. Boy I was totally wrong. I was truly impressed by what I saw. These girls wanted to win badly. They wanted to put on a show. There were plenty of hits, some long runs and overall solid play. The enthusiasm of the girls is what will stick with me the most. It was a great night for some football. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Kyle - thanks for covering the Turkey Bowl. This is a lot of fun that all of the students and parents look forward to. Just so you know, the Turkey Bowl used to be held in November but the rivalry became so big that it was disruptive to the school day. It's now held on the day before school starts. These girls put a lot of time into practicing and the teachers that volunteer their time to coach them are awesome. Way to go Seniors!!
