Kenny Perry has been criticized all season long for not playing in a major. Then the one major he does play in, he has to withdraw because of an eye injury. Perry tried to play through a scratched cornea but on Thursday night he withdrew from the PGA Championship. Earlier in the week doctors told him not to wear contacts for at least seven days and try to let it heal. But instead of wearing glasses he ignored that advice and teed it up on Thursday with the contacts in. He finished his round at +9 then decided to withdraw. It's not known how the injury will affect his Ryder Cup status. If the injury lingers it's a tough break for a guy whose main goal this season was to play in the Ryder Cup in his home state of Kentucky. Let me know what you think. |
