Kentucky football coach Rich Brooks says quarterback Curtis Pulley will be disciplined internally, after he was arrested twice in the last two months. Sorry to break the news to coach, but that's not good enough. After the media and some fans have been critical in Steve Kragthorpe's handling of UofL's problems, it's time for Brooks to answer some tough questions. Let me break down the Pulley situation for you. Back in June has was arrested in Louisville for marijuana possession. Then in June he was arrested in E-Town on speeding and driving on a suspended license charges. He pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and the suspended license charge was dropped. But here's where the story gets juicy. Brooks didn't know about the first arrest until several weeks after it happened. Huh? So let me get this straight. The guy who is competing for the starting quarterback job, waited several weeks to tell you about being arrested? To me withholding the truth for that long is grounds for punishment in itself. Add on top of that a marijuana possession charge, that is still unresolved and in my eyes Pulley should be suspended for at least a game. If Brooks allows him to play in the season opener against rival Louisville, then he's putting winning a football game ahead of helping out a young man. That's not the kind of guy I know Rich Brooks to be. Hopefully he'll do the right thing which is to suspend Pulley for the season opener. UK holds it's media day on Tuesday and I'm sure Brooks will be asked about Pulley's punishment. Let me know what you think. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Let's not compare apples to oranges here. I do not in any way condone Pulley's actions, but what Kragthorpe has has to deal with, namely armed robberies with uzis and gunshot victims, is no comparison to Coach Brook's problems. Kragthorpe is expeiencing the hangover from Petrino's less-than-than-good-citizen players. I will miss what Pulley could have done on the field, but a player with that kind of arrogance or ignorance, has no place on the team. UK has come too far to let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Coach Kragthorpe has had a whole bag full rotten apples.
