The Jeffersonville/ George Rogers Clark little league team cannot be accused of not having any heart. Facing near insurmountable odds of advancing out of pool play they gave it their all falling just short, losing to Mill Creek, WA 3-2 in 7 innings. The loss ends a great year for Jeff. Despite going 0-3 in their trip to the Little League World Series the players, coaches and families tell me they still had a blast. They're still one of the top 16 teams in the world, and top 8 in the country and it's a trip they'll remember for a lifetime. What I'll remember most about this trip is, not only the Lamade hill where kids spend all day sliding down, but also the joy of everyone connected with the Little League World Series. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity for the players and to see the expressions on the players faces at the stadium is priceless. It's a trip I'll remember forever as well. Let me know what you think. |
