I spent the afternoon at Kenny Perry's golf course down in Franklin on Wednesday. Kenny is recovering from the eye injury that forced him to withdraw from the PGA Championship. He was in great spirits as he looks forward to the Ryder Cup. Perry will be in demand when he gets to Louisville. That's why I wanted the chance to interview before the Ryder Cup madness begins. There were also reporters from USA Today and Golf Weekly Magazine there. As you might have seen on WHAS11, we aired my interview with Kenny regarding his eye injury. He says he's feeling much better and new contacts should do the trick. What you haven't seen yet is Kenny talking about golf, his upbringing, and his excitement about playing on the US Ryder Cup team. I also talked with his father, Ken Perry, who is quite a character, and Kenny's golf coach from his WKU days. You'll see these interviews during our coverage leading up to the Ryder Cup.
I will tell you, Kenny seemed to think fellow Kentucky native JB Holmes has a great shot on making the team. He told me captain Paul Azinger is strongly considering Holmes.
