« Kragthorpe Needs To Come Down Hard On Spillman |
Main
| Kragthorpe Puts the Kibosh on Bars and Clubs »
Maybe Louisville football coach Steve Kragthorpe does listen to my unsolicited advice. In a blog on Saturday I called on Kragthorpe to get rid of JaJuan Spillman. On Thursday Spillman was arrested for the second time in less than a year and a half. The charges include driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, and carrying a concealed weapon. Apparently coach Kragthorpe felt the same way I did. He dismissed the junior wide receiver from the team saying "JaJuan has been dismissed from our football team and will not have a chance to return." What else more needs to be said. Spillman didh't just have a first chance, he had a second chance. He didn't take advantage of it and now he has to pay the price. That's not say I don't think highly of Spillman. He's talented. he's probably even a good guy, that keeps making the same mistakes. I'm confident he'll one day learn from those mistakes. He's not the first to make a mistake and sure won't be the last. But making a mistake is not the problem for him. It's not learning from the mistakes. Coach Kragthorpe did what he had to do in dismissing Spillman. Keeping him around obviously wasn't working. Maybe this will spur on a change in him. Let me know what you think. |
